Publication Ethics
Journal of Socio-Religious and Cultural Studies (JSRC) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Saka Jagad Initiative Foundation. This publication ethics statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. JSRC adheres to the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and professional ethics, guided by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines.
Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editorial evaluation must be conducted fairly and objectively, without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, religion, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.
Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished materials for personal research or advantage.
Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers contribute to editorial decisions through a double-blind peer-review process and assist authors in improving the quality of their manuscripts.
Reviewers are expected to:
- conduct reviews objectively and professionally;
- maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts;
- provide constructive feedback supported by clear arguments;
- identify relevant uncited works or possible similarities with published research; and
- disclose any conflict of interest that may affect their review.
Reviewers who are unable to conduct a timely or qualified review should inform the editor promptly.
Duties of Authors
Authors must submit original manuscripts that have not been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of sources must always be provided, and plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable.
Authors are responsible for:
- presenting accurate and honest research findings;
- ensuring proper authorship and acknowledgment of contributors;
- disclosing any conflicts of interest or sources of research funding; and
- cooperating with editors in correcting or retracting published work if significant errors are discovered.
Publisher’s Responsibility
The Saka Jagad Initiative Foundation, as the publisher of JSRC, is committed to supporting editorial independence, ethical publishing practices, and the integrity of the scholarly publication process. Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by commercial, financial, or institutional interests.
